K3 Retail - Still puzzled about who to choose as your new partner?

K3 Retail, unfortunately, went into administration at the end of April and since then the team at here at Sci-Net have been busy helping some K3 customer navigate their way through this challenging time.

We know there are still K3 customers who have yet to choose their partner, and we understand that moving partners can be stressful at any time and even more so when you have not made that choice to move.

So far, we have helped 15 of customers by giving them the service and support to make this move as smooth as possible.

During this process, a few key questions and concerns kept cropping up so we thought we would try and answer some them here and help overcome any initial concerns: -

What about K3 IP and developed software?

Microsoft architecture is based on open source code, which means you’re not restricted to your choice of partner or licensee.

Sci-Net has the expertise to develop and support your exiting solutions without charging excessive support and maintenance.  Also, if you are unsure about your K3 contractual obligation around IP, then we will be happy to review both the contractual terms and the solution itself.

I do not know my licence details.

With your permission, we can obtain all your details directly from Microsoft.

My Support Contract is being renewed in October, and I have paid up until that date, will I have to pay again?

No, we will honour your existing contract and carry on with that price.

My company also partners with LS Retail software, what will happen to that contract?

Sci-Net specialises in the retail industry and is one of the few credited LS Retail partners. We will honour any existing contract and look at any other software additions you may have too.

What is your Onboarding Process - What will you do?

  • We have a robust onboarding process; in fact, many of our existing clients has already gone through this process.
  • We like to get to know you and understand your relationship with K3 Retail and what you were working to and aiming to achieve. Our dedicated team will carry out a review of your system and set up any customisations and relevant infrastructure.
  • We will assess this with you and provide you with any upfront and ongoing costs along and with a support contract and how we are going to service and support your solution.
  • We will also identify any training needs if there are any.

What about any existing issues or problems?

We realise there may be ongoing issues, so we will also take on any support issues or performance issues you might have been experiencing and log these straight to our support team.
